東京五輪、天皇陛下はJOCの「誤訳」をさり気なく訂正 開会宣言に垣間見えた元首の器
の記事を読んでから、オリンピック憲章を開いてみた。

Opening and closing ceremonies
3. The Olympic Games shall be proclaimed open by the Head of State of the country of
the host by pronouncing either of the following sentences as the case may be:
– if at the opening of the Games of the Olympiad:
“I declare open the Games of … (name of the host) celebrating the … (number of
the Olympiad) … Olympiad of the modern era.”
– If at the opening of the Olympic Winter Games:
“I declare open the … (number of the Olympic Winter Games) Olympic Winter
Games of … (name of the host).”
3. オリンピック競技大会は、 開催地の国の国家元首が以下のいずれかの文章を読み上げ、 開会を宣言する。
- オリンピアード競技大会の開幕においては
「わたしは、第 ...... （オリンピアードの番号） 回近代オリンピアードを祝い、...... （開催地名）オリンピック競技大会の開会を宣言します。」
- オリンピック冬季競技大会の開幕においては
「私は第 ...... （オリンピック冬季競技大会の番号） 回 （開催地名） オリンピック冬季競技大会の開会を宣言します」
天皇の宣言は
「私は、ここに、第32回近代オリンピアードを記念する、東京大会の開会を宣言します」
確かに、JOCの日本語訳は高校レベルの誤訳ですね。それを天皇がさりげなく訂正されています。
天皇は宣言するだけで祝うことは許されないそうです。
